Never Give Up!

This is based on an old article I wrote many years ago but I find it fitting for us now.

Look, I get it.   I have asked you to fully commit to CMA and your new forming chapter this year.  I know you already have a lot on your plates, and then CMA and your chapter asks you to attend the meetings, attend the rallies, attend secular events, attend the CMA Events like Seasons of Refreshing, State Rally, National and Colors Rallies.   It’s goes on and on.  Some of us work long hours, not sure day to day if we can attend anything CMA related.  And then you finally get a break and are able to attend an event. Then, of all things,  you are asked to help!   Help with the ticket and gate money.  Help with security.  Help with the bike games.  Help with fund raising.  Help, Help Help.

A great quote from a movie that I like is “Never give up,  Never Surrender”    As in most of the science fiction related TV series, the characters always find themselves in a situation where there is no hope. No apparent way out.   And then, as if by magic, at the last minute, they always find the solution and make it out of the hopeless situation, safe and sound.

My encouragement to you is  to “Never give up,  Never Surrender”  Our bodies will fail us.  We will get tired both physically and mentally.  We will have “Here if you need us” put to the test.

You can’t do everything, every time. You must find where you fit in the chapter.  Evangelism, Fellowship, Discipleship and Prayer.  You may fit in one or in all four.

Are you called for Evangelism?  Then work the Biker Rally and go to the Club houses.

Are you called for Fellowship?  Then organize rides and events to build the chapter.

Are you called for Discipleship? Then mentor a new believer or new CMA member.

Are you called for Prayer? Then pray. There will be no chapter or anything else without prayer

“These sufferings of ours are for your benefit. And the more of you who are won to Christ, the more there are to thank him for his great kindness, and the more the Lord is glorified. That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our inner strength in the Lord is growing every day. (2 Corinthians 4:15-18 - Living Bible).
