“You are special! Say What?”   Part 2

In our last newsletter we talked about the following statement.

God proved that you were more important than His only Son.

In Part 2 we continue to show how special you are to God.

12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. Matthew 18:12-13 (NIV)

In today’s world of possessions, most of us would be completely happy knowing that we had 100 sheep, and if just one went missing, we still had 99 and that is still a lot of sheep and a huge responsibility to care for.  Most would be content to continue to care for those 99.  Probably all the while in a big, flat, fenced in area.

But in the life of a shepherd he would not stop until the missing one is found and reunited with the 99.  And the struggle was real, to find this lost sheep in the mountains, with all of the crevices, shadows, hiding places etc.

God is the same with with the lost.  He will not stop in order to find the one that is lost.  He will leave the 99 to find the 1 

5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15: 5-7

Call out to God!

There is no mountain He won’t climb up.

There is no shadow He won’t light up.

There is no wall He won’t kick down.

There is no lie you won’t tear down
